"Samaria" is the name given to this lot because of one of the contributing farms but it is only part of the story. This lot is built from lots of four different farms in Garzón, Huila owned by Jaime Figueroa Cantillo. Jaime's network of farms is quite large compared to his neighbors. More often than not, we find a direct correlation between higher production and lower quality but that is not the case with Jaime. Given his ample resources, he has invested heavily in the infrastructure of his farm. Most specifically, he spent big money on a state-of-the-art drying facility where most of his parchment is dried to near perfection. Another important aspect of his operation is that he has a large area dedicated to the production of organic fertilizer which he both uses on the farm and sells for additional income.
